Originally born and raised in Springfield Vermont, once graduated, I attended the University of Massachusetts for 5 years. While there, I got my B.A. in Sociology as well as received my Masters of Education. Soon after I moved back to Vermont and  was hired to teach 2nd grade in Cavendish for the fall of 2015. Having always loved early elementary education I also worked as a paraeducator in Shutesbury, Massachusetts as well as worked for Stepping Stones preschool at their summer camp for 3 years before coming to Cavendish. I even spent time as a mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sister program with a child I still keep in contact with today!

Currently, I am  working on my Educational Doctorate in Educational Leadership, through Southern New Hampshire University. Since being at Cavendish Town Elementary, I have been trained in several programs such as Everyday Math, Fountas and Pinnell Benchmarking System, PNOA: Primary Numbers and Operations Assessment, Fundations Language Training, Handwriting without Tears, Yoga 4 classrooms, and Responsive Classroom. In addition to these programs, I have done work writing social studies curriculum for second grade and I have worked with my school district to become trauma informed.

My hobbies include yoga, weight lifting, exercise, traveling, arts and crafts, kayaking, cooking, and laughing with friends and family!

My teaching style includes restorative, responsive, as well as proactive practices that focus on teaching the whole child. Brain research has also influenced my teaching practices. It is my main goal to build and maintain rapport with students as we learn academics as well as social-emotional skills throughout the year.
